1st Annual Deborah’s Place Chili Cook-Off a great success!

On Saturday, January 24th, the Deborah’s Place President’s Circle held its First Annual Chili Cook-Off in the Deborah’s Place gym at 2822 W. Jackson. The event was a great success, bringing in over 65 guests and raising almost $2000!

Seventeen guests brought chili, which guests tasted and voted on. Party-goers also enjoyed music from bluegrass duo Long Journey Home and took tours of the building given by Deborah’s Place tenants and staff. Children also played Baggo, had their face painted, visited the coloring table, and received balloons.

Congratulations to our chili winners!
Hottest – Mike Burchinal and family
Best Vegetarian – Mary Whalen
Most Original – Michael Stanek
Best Overall – Mike Burchinal and family

Each winner received a $25 gift card to the Lettuce Entertain You family of restaurants.
