Changes to In-Kind Donation Policies

In-Kind donations of goods or services help Deborah’s Place improve and maintain quality programs and provide the women we serve with the resources they need to succeed. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of all of our in-kind donors.

IRS regulations state that nonprofit organizations are no longer able to include the estimated or real value of your donation or goods or services in donor acknowledgment letters. The valuation of any gift-in-kind is the responsibility of the donor and/or authorized appraiser. If a non-cash contribution exceeds $500, the donor must file IRS Form 8283. Please consult with your tax advisor about this matter.

We continue to ask that you state the estimated or real value of your donation on the In-Kind Donation Form that you are to complete at the time of your donation. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact Sue Gries, Director of Finance at sgries(at)deborahsplace.org or (773) 635-6575.
