Volunteer for the City of Chicago Point-in-Time Homeless Count at Deborah’s Place
Preparations are underway for the 2011 citywide Point-In-Time Homeless Count, which will be held on Tuesday, January 25th from 8:00PM – 2:00AM. The Point-In-Time Homeless Count is conducted every two years to gather data on the number of homeless individuals as a basis for federal funding, for service and resource planning, and to raise public awareness about homelessness.
The West side count will be based from our very own Deborah’s Place gym at 2822 W. Jackson, and we would love to see you and your friends there! On the night of the count, volunteers will arrive at 2822 W. Jackson at 8:00PM and then leave in teams of three or four people at 9:00PM to begin the count. We will need one person with a car and one person with a cell phone on each team.
New volunteers are invited to attend one brief information session prior to the count. The dates for the sessions are on the flyer below. Please e-mail Adriana Camarda at homelesscount@cityofchicago.org if you are interested in volunteering.
We hope you’ll join us!
