Champion of Supportive Services Design and Delivery from the Corporation for Supportive Housing

On December 6, 2011, Deborah’s Place was one of five organizations awarded the Champion of Supportive Services Design and Delivery from the Corporation for Supportive Housing as part of their 20th Anniversary Celebration. A recognition of innovation and leadership in supportive housing, the Champions of Supportive Housing Awards are CSH’s way of honoring important people and organizations in the supportive housing movement.

Deborah’s Place Chosen in the 2007 MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing Enterprise Community Partners announced today that the Rebecca Johnson Apartments, a permanent supportive housing development of Deborah’s Place is the recipient of the 2007 2nd place MetLife Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The awards, presented at the Enterprise Community Partner Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, recognize and share the important work being done by community-based organizations across the country. The award includes an unrestricted grant of $15,000. Community-based and regional nonprofits or tribal organizations compete in two categories: supportive housing and property and asset management. Best Nutrition Award from the Greater Chicago Food Depository

Best Nutrition Award Special congratulations to our food service coordinator Laura Ignoffo and Dolores’ Safe Haven for winning the Best Nutrition Program award from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The award recognizes Deborah’s Place as an agency that makes an extra effort to incorporate nutrition into our regular food service. On the award Ignoffo said, “I am very excited that we have gotten this award for the Safe Haven. Now I know that my hard work is paying off and we will continue to serve our women nutritiously and teach them how to eat nutritiously.”
