Leadership staff at Deborah’s Place are highly knowledgeable about homelessness and related issues. They are experienced and dedicated professionals who work collaboratively with our board, our participants, and staff of all levels to ensure that we deliver on our mission every day.

Deborah’s Place’s Board of Directors and committee members are dedicated community leaders with a range of experiences and expertise. They provide guidance as we fulfill our mission.

Three committees meet monthly to contribute to our leadership. Each is chaired by a board member and includes a Deborah’s Place staff person, as well as other interested community members. Each committee meets monthly in person or by conference call.
Finance & Audit Committee
All internal and operational issues are handled by this Committee, including those related to finance, human resources, facilities, and property management.
Resource Development Committee
All external issues including fundraising, public relations, marketing and advocacy are the responsibility of this Committee.
This committee is responsible for board development, including new board recruitment, orientation, development and education. The committee also develops the agenda for board meetings and retreats.
The Deborah’s Place President’s Circle is a group of former Board Presidents and Members who are committed to raising money and awareness about Deborah’s Place and our efforts to implement long term solutions to ending homelessness for women in Chicago.

The Deborah’s Place Young Professional Board is a group of volunteers who participate in direct service and event planning.

Opening Doors Benefit Host Committee
Deborah’s Place hosts the annual Opening Doors Benefit in May. Members of the Host Committee will work to ensure a successful fundraising event to support our mission.
