During the COVID-19 crisis, we are in need of non-perishable food to stock our food pantry. Normally, many of our residents are able to do their own grocery shopping. But now, it’s hard to get to the store. The women don’t have cars or reliable access to transportation. They don’t have computers or internet access to place online orders for delivery, and these services are often too expensive to be practical. If they can get to a store, items they need are sold out, and they are unable to go to multiple stores to find these items. And on top of all this, many of our residents are vulnerable to getting sick and shouldn’t be exposing themselves any more than absolutely necessary.

We are doing our best to provide food to any resident who needs it, but our supplies are limited. We make trips to the grocery store and try to take some residents shopping, but this puts our employees at risk too. And the need is just too great for us to keep up with. That’s why we need your help.

When you head to the store, please think about picking up a couple items from our non-perishable food list on our in-kind donation page and dropping them off at our location at 2822 W Jackson Blvd in Chicago. Or you can order groceries online and have them shipped to us as well.

We are so grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received during this difficult time. Thank you for always being there for our residents!
