Deborah’s Place began as an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers are still a crucial part of the supportive community we provide for women who are moving on from homelessness. We want your volunteer experience to be rewarding, so we offer a variety of opportunities to fit your schedule and interests. Get started by signing up for a volunteer orientation.
Single day opportunities include landscaping, administrative help, or leading a Learning Center activity.
Leading a game of bingo is another popular volunteer opportunity for groups. Resume workshops and budgeting classes are always popular in our Learning Centers. If you have another skill or interest to share with our residents, contact us with your ideas.
Ongoing opportunities include meal service, event planning committees, and leading Learning Center classes or groups.
Meal service opportunities take place twice a day at two of our locations. Lunch and dinner are served daily at Marah’s Permanent Housing Program at 1456 W. Oakdale and at our 1530 N. Sedgwick location. Serving meals is a great opportunity to make a connection with our residents.
