Every year on March 8th, the world comes together to celebrate women: their strength, their resilience, their accomplishments, and the community that arises when we lift each other up. For International Women’s Day 2023, Deborah’s Place was incredibly fortunate to receive incredible support from so many individuals and organizations–here are just a few. We look forward to all that we can continue to accomplish together!

Alliant Credit Union

Volunteers from Alliant Credit Union led Deborah’s Place residents in a creative vision board activity, building community and promoting self-love!

The Movement Guild

The Sunday before International Women’s Day, the Movement Guild held an all-levels yoga class with brunch from local vendors, raising close to $1000 to support our programs. Thank you to teacher Jessica Carlin for bringing together a group of community-minded people, and for her generosity in supporting women experiencing homelessness.

Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile

Sofitel Chicago’s “Women in Winemaking” event featured women-owned, women-made wines and delicious food. A portion of each ticket was donated to Deborah’s Place, and guests had the opportunity to learn how they could get involved with our organization.

Hines

Hines invited us to table at their special International Women’s Day Market in the River Point building! We had a great time talking to other vendors and sharing our mission with the people working in this high-rise office building. Later that day, CEO Kathy Booton Wilson and Development Director Christy Smith-Hall joined Hines for their International Women’s Day celebration. It was great to connect with so many women leaders and share the work we do at Deborah’s Place.

Cresset Capital

While at the River Point market event, we were delighted to run into an employee from Cresset Capital, who informed us that they had held a silent auction event to raise money for Deborah’s Place. It was an amazing surprise, and we were honored to receive their support and show them what we do at the Patty Crowley Apartments.

Sinai Chicago

Ob/Gyn residents from Sinai Chicago volunteered their time to talk to residents about cervical cancer screening! Thank you for your work to help support the health of our residents.
