Deborah’s Place, Chicago’s largest provider of supportive housing for women experiencing homelessness, is marking its 40th anniversary with a special fundraising campaign: “40 for 40” – Forty Dollars for Forty Years. This Giving Day, taking place on April 1, 2025, invites the community to celebrate four decades of impact by making a $40 donation to support housing and services for women in need.
For forty years, Deborah’s Place has provided safe, clean, affordable housing and support services to help women break the cycle of homelessness. “All through forty years of existence, we have responded to every need as it has come up. We’ve had to be adaptive and flexible.” said Kathy Booton Wilson, CEO of Deborah’s Place. “What we’ve landed on, what works the best, is Permanent Supportive Housing. That is the solution. That is the end to homelessness.”
The goal of the “40 for 40” campaign is to raise $4,000 in 24 hours to expand Deborah’s Place’s services, including permanent housing and wrap-around support services.
