In December of 2025, Deborah’s Place was proud to receive the Alford-Axelson Award for Nonprofit Managerial Excellence.
This honor is given by the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management at North Park University to a “a Chicago-area nonprofit that exemplifies outstanding management and leadership practices”. The award includes a $10,000 cash prize, which will make a massive impact on our ability to serve our participants and plan for the future in this uncertain time.
We have always prided ourselves on our stewardship of donors’ generosity, the quality of support we offer our participants, and the way we empower our staff to do their best work. To be recognized by the Axelson Center for these qualities among so many amazing Chicago nonprofits is an exceptional honor.
